Way to go, students!Virtual Lunch BunchWe are taking lunch bunches online! If you would like to sign up for a lunch bunch, please send me an email with your name, a few dates/times that work for you, and names of any other students you would like to invite (up to three max). I will then contact you with a confirmed date/time. Lunch bunches will be conducted via Zoom (no account necessary) and run for 20 minutes. It will be a time to just catch up and talk about anything that's on your mind. Hope to see you soon!
The recent events of the COVID-19 pandemic have placed us into unfamiliar territory in many ways. Below are some resources and articles that may be helpful for you and your family during this time.Remote InstructionOne new task families have had to take on is helping their child/children through the remote learning experience. A common experience for some students may be difficulty getting into "school mode" at home. One great way to combat this is to establish a clear schedule which is followed as consistently as possible. In addition, designating a specific area of the house free of distractions that students know to be their "Work Zone" may be helpful. We hope that with each day, the process will become easier for students and parents as well. The following are resources and articles you may find helpful.Free printable schedule templatesArticles on Remote InstructionThis article contains some good tips and links to free resources"Teacher: 'You don't have to strive for perfection' when homeschooling your kids" (from The Today Show)Movement BreaksOpportunities to move around may come in handy when younger students get restless or need a break. Here are a couple of links for videos that offer your child (and parents!) a fun way to take a break and get back on track. Please remember self-care during this time. Take every chance to get out on a nice day for a walk or bike-ride. Find a way to show kindness in a time where so many could use it. We are so proud of our students for adjusting to these changes, and showing how dedicated they are to their learning. We extend a "Thank You" to our parents for working so hard and juggling so many roles. Please stay healthy, safe, and happy and we look forward to seeing you soon!~Midland Guidance Department
Congratulations to our hard-working students!
