Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year!
Dear Midland School families;
On behalf of the PTO I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your families to Midland School #1. As the PTO President it is my responsibility to talk with you about getting involved in the school. But first, since this may be the first time at Midland School for many of you, I think that it is important to explain what the Midland School PTO is all about.
The PTO fully funds and supports many of the events and activities for Midland School 1 and the community. We hold fundraisers throughout the year so that we can fund activities such as; Back to School Community Night, Holiday Brunch, 6th, 7th & 8th grade Halloween Dance, 3rd, 4th & 5th grade FUN NIGHT, Pre-K-2nd grade theme Party, Midland School Alumni Scholarships, 8th grade Award, Teacher Appreciation week, and year-end Ice Cream Social. The PTO also holds favorite community event fundraisers such as Trunk or Treat, The Giving Basket, Bingo, Holiday Fair, Breakfast with Santa and Scholastic Book Fair!
When you join the PTO it’s a chance to become a member of a great organization that funds all these wonderful events! You are not obligated to attend all meetings nor volunteer; you can participate as much or as little as you would like or able. Being a paid member of the PTO means you have a voice in what the PTO accomplishes. You are welcome to attend meetings, listen in, share ideas and never volunteer. We welcome Midland School families to take part in your child’s school experience at whatever capacity is best for you and your family.
The next way to make it the best school year ever, is to volunteer. It has been proven that a child whose parent is involved in his/her education and school experience is a more successful student. By getting involved at home and school, children do better, grades are higher, test scores rise, self-esteem grows, and schools improve. By joining and volunteering in the PTO there is no better way to get connected. Know what’s happening at Midland, meet other parents and teachers, share ideas, concerns and experiences. By volunteering you put your skills, hobbies, and interests to work!
It is only $10 to join, per; parent, guardian, teacher, grandparent, aunt/uncle, etc. Help us make this the best year yet, for all the students and teachers of Midland School 1!
Please join us for our first general PTO meeting of the year on Tuesday, October 12th, at 7:00pm in the school’s multi-purpose room/gym. We hope to see everyone there!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me or email me.
